Terminally Ill Teen Who Got a FaceTime From Beyoncé Has Died

Ebony Banks lost her battle with stage four cancer.

Ebony Banks, a Texas high school senior who was battling a rare form of stage-four cancer lost her brave fight on Sunday. Before she passed away, however, the young woman was able to fulfill her dying wish of meeting her idol, Beyoncé.

Banks and Bey shared a touching conversation over Facetime just four days before Banks died.

When the two spoke, Banks told Beyoncé that she loved her. "I love you," the singer replied back.

“Beyoncé is one of her idols,” Banks' classmate Katrina Gutierrez told ABC13. “She admires her so much.”

"Ebob," as her friends knew her, was honored by her high school when the school district held a graduation ceremony at MD Anderson Hospital the same week that she met the music icon.

Banks had been accepted to college and planned to study nursing.

Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.
