Charlamagne Tha God Told Lil Yachty He's the 'Poster Child for Wack Rappers'

Naturally, the rapper didn't agree.

Although radio personality Charlamagne Tha God is reputed for his boldness on air, it appears as though Lil Yachty has been the latest to be on the receiving end of his strong opinions.

The 19-year-old rapper recently stopped by Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, and during the conversation, found himself being especially called out by Charlamagne.

Around the 16:30 mark, the conversation takes a quick left turn, with Charlamagne sharing that he feels as though Lil Boat is exactly what is "wrong" with hip-hop today.

"You are the poster child for wack rappers," Charlamagne began. "If they want to say somebody’s wack, they say you."

Of course that wasn't all the radio host had to say.

"It was Trinidad James at one point," he continued. "As far as being the poster child for when people who wanna say what’s wrong with hip-hop… it’s a generational thing."

Naturally, Lil Yachty didn't agree with the comparison, and began to defend himself, with co-host DJ Envy taking his side.

"That’s crazy!" the young emcee exclaimed. "We’re in two different lanes, me and Trinidad James. To even say that I took his spot… just to sit here and hear you put me in Trinidad James’s spot of the ‘shine of being terrible,’ I don’t think I’ma claim that."

As the conversation unfolded, Charlamagne and Lil Boat were able to agree that his music is "for the youngins."

Take a look at the heated interview, beginning around the 16:30 mark, in the clip below.
