2 Chainz Says His Latest Song With Nicki Minaj Kept Him From Working With Remy Ma

She had a bone to pick with one particular line...

Pretty Girls Like Trap Music rap star 2 Chainz knows a little something about relationships these days.

After revealing details about Jay-Z and Kanye West’s brotherhood, shared with him by Yeezy himself, he’s apparently privy to the continued rivalry between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma as well. But after teaming up with Ms. Minaj for their “Realize” single, Tity Boi said he may have landed on the Bronx femcee’s bad side.

During his Streetz Is Watchin radio show appearance, 2 Chainz said that his last encounter with Rem and her husband, Papoose, was “all good vibes” and he even had a collaboration slated with her. However, Remy recently said that she “didn’t rock with Tity Boi [anymore],” presumably due to the shots Nicki took on his track.

“But, she was in my face and I was saying, ‘I love you, though,’ you know what I’m saying?,” he recalled. “Papoose was like, ‘Why’d you let [Nicki taking shots at Remy] happen anyway, anyhow?’ Like I told them that I had no control over someone else’s artistic expression. I send her a song, this is what the song apparently made her say or do.”

The shot in question arrives during Nicki’s second verse in the song, where she calls out Papoose (by name) for what she believed to be ghostwriting on Remy’s fiery “shETHER” diss track.

“I've been winning eight years consistently, at least respect it / Papoose wrote a Ether record,” Nicki spits. “But I broke Aretha record / See this is chess, not checkers / You can not check the checkers / Did Nas clear that ‘Ether’ record? / Nah, but I broke Aretha record.”

He continues explaining that he initially requested a hook from The Pinkprint raptress. When she sent back more, he was more appreciative than rejecting of the courtesy, he explained. Not to mention that the two have also been taking shots at one another for quite some time and well before the latest Nicki feature.

We’re glad to see 2 Chainz isn’t taking it personal, though.

Hear what he had to say about Remy’s snub after the “Realize” release below.
