What seems to be the most mind-boggling and divisive about the photo he posted to Instagram, if you let his fans tell it, is his reference to legendary hip-hop icon Tupac. And while some fans have stood in his defense, others are standing in shameful disappointment of the 26-year-old rap star.

Others, however, pointed to hip-hop legends, like Nas and Pac himself, who dared to pull such a striking visual move
