Allow Lizzo’s 'Water Me' Video To Help You Fall In Love With Your Body
Self-love does the body good. And body-positive rapper Lizzo surely knows a thing or two about staying well-nourished. For her newest video, "Water Me," the Minneapolis native explores the hydrating power of body-confidence and Black beauty.
Under the direction of Quinn Wilson and Asha Efia, we find Lizzo along with Black children, men, and women using water to regenerate their bodies. The stunning optics speaks to the importance of self-care and support, especially from ourselves.
The up-tempo track took Lizzo nearly seven months to complete, a process she described as a "labor of love" to FADER. ”It's about needing nourishment, it's about being loved for who you are," she explained. "We're celebrating Black beauty and the meaningful freedom of water.”
