Convicted - Clad in an orange jail jumpsuit and with shackles on his hands and ankles, rapper Corey "C-Murder" Miller stood silently as he was sentenced to life in prison on Friday for the shooting death of a teenager in 2002. District Judge Hans Liljeberg gave Miller the mandatory life sentence, days after a jury convicted the rapper of second-degree murder.

No Court Yet - A federal judge has agreed to postpone a trial for a lawsuit that accuses rapper Lil Wayne of sampling another artist's work without permission. U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman didn't immediately set a new date for the trial that was scheduled to start Oct. 26.

Early Release - After several leaks from Usher’s forthcoming LP, “Raymond Vs. Raymond,” the singer has decided to shift the release date to December 21, 2009. The project was initially set for a 2010 release.

Usher's Monster - Grammy Award-winning recording artist Usher has revealed to the Las Vegas Sun that his sixth solo set, “Monster,” is on the verge of completion and is scheduled to see the light of day in October. To date, Ne-Yo, Jermaine Dupri and his So So Def production team (which includes Johnta Austin and Brian M. Cox), are the only confirmed contributors to the upcoming album.

Best Rapper Ever? - With his career at an all-time high, rapper/actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is feeling quite confident these days. Ludacris told the Chicago Tribune that he is one of the best rapper’s out there. “Rap is real competitive just the same way boxing is,” Ludacris said. “We always talk about taking other rappers out. That being said, I feel like I’m the best rapper. I wanted to get the best boxer in the game (Floyd Mayweather Jr.) [for the song]. That’s why it's called 'Undisputed.’”

Prison Time - After being denied a dismissal for a gun possession charge stemming for an incident in 2007, Ja Rule is facing three years for the charge and will return to court on March 3 to receive the verdict. Authorities found an unregistered .40 caliber pistol in the rapper's Maybach.

Comeback - After a lengthy hiatus, Ja Rule is poised to make a return to rap. “I’m putting together a beautiful album,” he said of his new work, scheduled to drop next year. “It’s coming out real hot. I couldn’t be happier right now.” The Queens rapper also disclosed that he is working on a mixtape tentatively titled, “Welcome To Rule York,” which he is planning to release later this year.
