While Faith Evans sang backup on early Mary J. Blige albums, things were never peachy between the two R&B stalwarts. With Faith going from a backup role to the position of First Lady of Bad Boy Records, it left little time for MJB to work with longtime producer Sean “Puffy” Combs. Save for a duet on Faith’s self-titled debut in 1995, the two stars have never really worked together or been overly friendly in public. Their relationship has kind of a “you do you, I’ll do me” vibe.
