Lupe Fiasco, Food & Liquor II: Great American Rap Album Pt. 1
Lupe Fiasco landed his first No. 1 album with Lasers, but despite this unexpected success, the Chicago rapper wasn't looking to repeat that LP's pop-oriented, dance-music-influenced sound. Instead, the Chicago rapper returned to his sonic roots with a sequel to his acclaimed 2006 debut, Food & Liquor. "I just wanted to go back to the essence of what made that record so special," Lupe said in a interview with Fuse TV. The album dropped in 2012 and picked up a Grammy nod for Best Rap Album.
