Lupe Fiasco, Food & Liquor 2: Great American Rap Album Pt. 1
Lupe Fiasco landed his first No. 1 album last March with Lasers. But despite this unexpected success, the Chicago rapper isn't looking to repeat that LP's pop-oriented, dance-music-influenced sound. Instead, the Chicago rapper will be returning to his sonic roots with a sequel to his acclaimed 2006 debut, Food & Liquor. "I just wanted to go back to the essence of what made that record so special,” Lupe said in a recent interview with Fuse TV. “It’s just me–what I would do for myself if nobody ever heard it. This is the kind of music that I would make. It’s a masterpiece."
