Skandalouz: When Rappers Face Character Assassinations
Nas and Jay Z
This one got ugly quick. Hov lit into Nas in a major way on 2001's "Takeover," highlighting Nas' changing image and middling musical output after Illmatic. Nas got personal in his response, calling Jay-Z "ugly," "gay," "a camel" and more on "Ether". The results were so effective that the song's name became a verb synonymous with verbal destruction. But Jay took it to an even higher level with "Superugly," revealing his real-life affair with Nas' baby mother and claiming he left condoms on their daughter's baby seat (yuck). Thankfully, the two squashed the beef before things got even ickier.
