Generation Gap: When Old and New Rappers Beef

Hip hop has been marked by intergenerational warfare since Kool Moe Dee battled Busy Bee. Confident, up-and-coming young'ns say OGs don't want to make way for the new, while old heads say the youth don't respect the architects. Lord Jamar, for example, is in the midst of a show down with Yelawolf about white rappers and whether or not enough dues have been paid for agenda-pushing in the hip hop culture like Macklemore has been doing with his song, "Same Love."

It's a heavy debate. Click on to see more intergenerational hip hop beefs.
