3. "Stir It Up"

Bob wrote and recorded this song for his wife, Rita, in 1967, but it didn't break through until American pop singer Johnny Nash covered the song in 1972. Though the "I Can See Clearly Now" singer's version gave Bob his first hit outside of Jamaica, it's been rightfully overshadowed by the Wailers' own flawless take, punctuated by beautiful backup harmonies and heavenly phasing guitar chords, from their landmark major label debut, Catch a Fire.
