5. Jam Master Jay

As one third of Run DMC, arguably the most influential rap group of all time, the late Jam Master Jay introduced the art of DJing to mainstream America and the world. He later founded Jam Master Jay Records, which helped break Onyx, Jayo Felony and 50 Cent, and the Scratch DJ Academy, which teaches his techniques to new generations of spinners.
