Slippery Slope

The now celebrity started off working with a local production group called Drop Squad in 2000. Four years later, he was signed to the independent record label Black Ice. Under them, he released the single "Getcha Hands Up" along with a music video on 106 & Park, but later decided to change his sound and image. Miguel would go on to sign with Jive Records in 2007, sparking a lawsuit for breach of contract with Black Ice. The case was settled in 2010.
