Breaking Bread: A Hip Hop Thanksgiving Potluck

This year, we're spending Turkey Day with our favorite MCs.

Breaking Bread: A Hip Hop Thanksgiving Potluck - Everyone knows the best part of Thanksgiving: the food! Turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese — in other words, our favorite foods, and huge portions of them, at the same time. But while most folks spend Thanksgiving with family and loved ones, BET.com has other plans. This year, we're inviting over our favorite rappers for a little potluck. Each will bring their own signature dish, and with a bit of planning, we'll have a serious feast. Read on to check out the menu. Bon appetite! —Alex Gale (Photos from left: John Shearer/Getty Images, Andrew Marks/PictureGroup, Jeff Daly/PictureGroup)

Rick Ross - It's always nice to start a feast with some soup, and we know just the man for the job. "Am I really just a narcissist / 'Cause I wake up to a bowl of lobster bisque?" Rick Ross asked on this year's "I Love My B---hes." Leave it to the Bawse to class things up.  (Photo: Rick Diamond/Getty Images for BET)

Odd Future - Odd Future is bringing their favorite finger food, as revealed in their 2010 fan favorite "Sandwiches." It's definitely a weird second course, but you can't expect much when you invite a group of rowdy skaters fresh out of their teens. Also, Tyler the Creator has assured us that cockroach paninis will not be on the menu.    (Photo: Scott Gries/PictureGroup)

Fabolous and Lil Wayne - It's time to move on to some heartier fare. (Sorry y'all — salads are so not gangsta!) Lil Wayne and Fabolous are teaming up to bring us some interesting sounding dishes. "My lil' man is on ya, Marlon and Shawn ya, lay the beef on his noodle, make some luger lasagna. 40-cal fettuccine, trey-pound pasta, you reach for this medallion, you must like Italian," Loso rapped on Weezy's 2008 banger "You Ain't Got Nuthin'." We love Italian, Fab! Though some of these dishes sound like they'd be hard to digest. Ghostface Killah - Luckily, good ol' Tony Starks is bringing a more traditional Italian dish, and he's bringing a classic Snapple flavor to wash it down. "Ayo, this rap is like Ziti, facing me, real TV, crash at high speeds, strawberry kiwi," he raps on his 2000 banger "Apollo Kids." Yes, our meal is off to a starchy start, but this is the rap game, kids — you gotta keep your weight up.   (Photo: Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images)

Goodie MOB - Legendary, recently reunited Atlanta quartet Goodie MOB are bringing it home with a bevy of down-home Southern favorites. They didn't call their 1995 debut, Soul Food, for nothing. "A heaping helping of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and collard greens, too big for my jeans," Cee-Lo spits on the title track. Hope y'all came hungry.  (Photo: Rick Diamond/Getty Images for Heineken)

Action Bronson - OK, this is where the meal starts to get a little out of hand, which we probably should've expected. Foodie-rap guru Action Bronson, who was a chef before he was a rapper, is showing off a little bit with his entrée. “Got the lamb rack roasted, laced it with fennel, little yogurt that been drizzled over, might be a winner,” Bronson raps on this year's "Double Breasted." Sounds divine. (Photo: Action Bronson/Myspace)

Big Pun - Big Pun was a great rapper. And, at 698 pounds at the time of his death in 2000, we'd wager he was a pretty good eater too. And if he came back from the dead for our humble feast, you know he'd have to ball out a bit with his multi-course offering. "Champagne on the rocks, rockin' a Fort Knox Lazarus / Shark salad with carrots, pork chops and applesauce," he rapped on Nore's "Banned From TV." It's definitely time to loosen your belt.  (Photo: John Ricard)

Raekwon and Method Man - The ice cream men are coming! Ghostface insisted we invite some of his Wu brethren, and Raekwon and Method Man are coming with their favorite dessert, in a whole bunch of delicious flavors: "French vanilla, butter pecan, chocolate deluxe," Meth raps on Raekwon's "Ice Cream." Even caramel sundaes!

Kelis - We don't think we can fit anything else — let alone more dairy — but Kelis has insisted on bringing her own world-famous dessert. "Just get the perfect blend," she sings on "Milkshake," "plus what you have within." It's unfortunate in some ways. Not only will our stomachs be upset, but now we can't invite Nas, and his lobster and scallions dish is legendary.    (Photo: Arista)

Ludacris - If your Thanksgiving is anything like ours, you eat in the afternoon and then spend the remainder of the day on the couch watching football and drinking. Normally, leftovers can keep you nourished through the fourth quarter, but it isn't easy feeding a bunch of rappers and their entourages (and yes, they all have the munchies). Luckily, Ludacris has generously offered to provide the perfect football-watching culinary combo: chicken and beer, ala his 2003 album of the same name. It was a great Thanksgiving, and we're stuffed, but there's just one vital thing none of our rapping guests brought — some Alka-seltzer. (Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images)
