President Obama's Inauguration Playlist - As we draw closer to the official beginning of President Barack Obama’s second term in the White House, the pres set the tone for the festive celebration by releasing a playlist of all the music fit for his inauguration. While BET.com respects the president’s wide-ranging taste in music, we took the liberty of spicing up the playlist with a little bit of soulful flavor. No disrespect to the president, but a party ain’t a party ‘till…you know how we do. We got you!(Photo: Scott Olson/Getty Images)

Beyoncé – "I Was Here" - Being the leader of the free world, we get why Obama selected this all-inclusive number from Beyoncé. The Grammy Award-winning superstar delivered a breathtaking performance of the song during the United Nations World Humanitarian Day celebration this past August and it’s still a fitting, unifying tune to commemorate the inauguration of the U.S. president. (Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

Usher – "Something Special" - Something special for a special day, right? We get why this touching album cut from Usher’s 2008 LP Here I Stand made the cut for the playlist. (Photo: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images)

John Legend - The soul that comes out of VaShawn Mitchell when doing his live performances makes him super relatable to John Legend. When caught up in their passion, both men project their lyrics with a soulful, spiritual growl. (Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images for Art of Elysium)

John Legend – "Ordinary People" - Slick pick here Mr. President. Quell all the chatter that you’re an elitist by offering up this understated 2004 ballad by John Legend. Mindless Behavior – "Future" - Though he won’t be running for office, Obama sends this number out to prospective voters in the 2016 election. This teeny-pop jam from Mindless Behavior should help keep the first daughters and the kids in their age group engaged.(Photo: Frank Micelotta/PictureGroup)

Alicia Keys – "New Day" - This pick was a no-brainer for the president. Though he has been our leader for the past four years, Inauguration Day will mark a new start for him and the nation as he begins his second term.(Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images for PCA)

Is WTT II Still On? - Besides Jay missing 'Ye's wedding, hints that their relationship has soured resurfaced on June 7 when Kanye omitted Jay's name from songs he performed at the X Games in Austin, Texas. But what about Watch the Throne II? It was all good just a few years ago, when the duo had people from New York to France rapping along to "N---s in Paris." Hov even mentioned that he and Kanye have spoken about a WTT sequel. Is the unspoken tension in the air real, or can fans still look forward to another classic collabo from the two hip hop greats?(Photo: Jason Squires/WireImage)

The Throne – "Made in America" - Ok, here’s where we step in. We thought it a bit odd that the president didn’t include any music from Jay-Z on his original playlist, so we fixed that and then some. The Throne (Jay-Z and Kanye West) are the most fitting hip hop collective to represent the magnificence and power the office of the presidency stands for and this Frank Ocean-assisted song says it all.(Photo: Jason Squires/WireImage)

Kanye West – "Touch the Sky" Feat. Lupe Fiasco - We know President Obama and Kanye West have had their differences in the past, but no Ye single better defines the elation of the moment Inauguration Day stands for. Plus, this could be an opportunity for Lupe Fiasco and Obama to hash out their issues. Just a bunch of Chicago cats kicking it.(Photo: 13thWitness/Getty Images for Samsung)

"13th Floor/Growing Old" - "That's a straight classic record," was all K.R.I.T. needed to say. (Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

OutKast – "Hey Ya!" - President Obama has had his problems unifying a stubborn Congress over the last four years, so pulling off the reunion of this on hiatus hip hop group would surely help regain his status as a great unifier. This is also one of the greatest genre-bending songs ever. (Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

LL Cool J – "Mama Said Knock You Out" - Don’t call it a comeback, I been here for four years... Wouldn’t it be great to hear the president rap those lines on Inauguration Day? Seriously, though, as motivation to Obama to tackle that pesky national debt, LL Cool J could perform his 1990 smash to remind the president that he’s got work to do. (Photo by Michael Buckner/Getty Images For Chrysalis)
