Diana Ross
As founding member and lead singer of The Supremes and, after 1970, a solo superstar, Diana Ross is arguably the most successful female entertainer of all time, with a career total of 70 hit singles. She played Billie Holiday in 1972's Lady Sings the Blues, becoming the first black woman to win a Golden Globe award. Ross has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
