10 Sports That Need Jay-Z's Help

The WNBA isn't the only sport lacking Hov's swag-ic touch.

Certified - Roc Nation Sports made headlines not only for their major deals, but critics and insiders pointed out rules which require all agents to be certified in order to work with major league players. 10 Sports That Need Jay-Z's Help - Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports is expanding. Hov's new agency recently announced that it had signed Skylar Diggins, who was scooped up by the Tulsa Shock as the third pick in this year's WNBA draft. Diggins was a star at Notre Dame, where her scoring skills and pretty looks famously made her the apple of Lil Wayne's eye. With Hov and Skylar on board, the long-overlooked WNBA will get a much-needed injection of cool. But there are other sports that could use Jay-Z swag-ic touch as well. Read on to see what we mean. Date Night - Beyoncé and Jay-Z enjoy a night out on the town away from their baby girl, Blue Ivy. The new parents look to be having a great time taking in the New Jersey Nets vs. New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden in New York City. (Photo: James Devaney/FilmMagic)

Hockey - Recent reports say that Jay is also interested in signing potential No. 1 NHL draft pick Seth Jones. Think of all the dope "ice" rap metaphors this will inevitably lead to! (Photo: James Devaney/FilmMagic)

Skateboarding - Boarding is doing just fine image-wise without Jay, but we figured he might want to ink a skater just to make his rival Lil Wayne a little more angry after he signed his crush, Skylar. (Photo:  James Devaney/FilmMagic)

Baseball - The declining African-American presence in the sport Jackie Robinson worked so hard to desegregate is already well documented. Jay-Z, signing other high-profile baseball players along with New York Yankee slugger Robinson Cano, could hopefully help reverse that. (Photo:  Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Soccer - No one understands why the world's most popular sport is still slept on in the States, but Jay-Z signing a young, exciting American star would hopefully make the question moot. (Photo: James Devaney/WireImage)

Jay Z - Even though Jay made the Yankee fitted more famous than the Yankees did, he became invested in another New York team, the Nets. He bought a minority ownership in the team and helped to orchestrate their move to his place of origin, Brooklyn.(Photo: James Devaney/WireImage)

NASCAR - NASCAR is still the second most-viewed sports on TV (after football), but it has seen viewership and ratings slide in recent years. Imagine Jay-Z signing Danica Patrick and having her race in that sliced-up custom Maybach from "OTIS" video. Problem solved! (Photo: James Devaney/WireImage)

Courtside Cool - Jay-Z enjoys his New Jersey Nets as they play the Atlanta Hawks at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Jigga's presence at the game puts the hush on rumors that wifey Beyoncé was heading to the hospital to deliver their baby girl before the New Year. Enjoy the downtime while you can, Jay! Horse Racing - We're surprised Jay hasn't gotten down the so-called sport of kings; it is, after all, a game for the one percent. Jay-Z owning a horse — he could name it Marcy! — would maybe make the rest of us pay attention. (Photo:  James Devaney/WireImage)

Jay Z - Before he was a businessman with an empire at his feet, Jay Z was another poor kid from Marcy Housing Projects in Brooklyn raised by a single mother and involved in crime. Golf - Golf hasn't been the same since Tiger Woods got a hole in one — more than one, actually — off the links. Jay-Z's the perfect man for the job: He already has practice with nine irons of a different sort from his Marcy days. (Photo:  Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

Curling - We know Jay-Z likes a good challenge. If he can somehow make this bizarre Canadian ice sport — best known for making the rest of the world say "WTH" during the Winter Olympics — cool, we will start thinking his "God MC" nickname might be real.    (Photo: Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)
