Hip Hop Lyrics Inspired by Tony Soprano

The shocking news that actor James Gandolfini died on June 19 from a massive heart attck has left many fans reeling. The 51-year-old New Jersey-born star became a pop culture icon for his portrayal of mob boss Tony Soprano on the popular HBO mafia drama The Sopranos. Like most mobsters, rappers fell in love with the idea of being like Tony Soprano. Nas incorporated the theme music from the hit series into his song “Got Ur Self a Gun,” while many other MCs mentioned the burly mafioso in rhyme.
