Considerably one of the most underrated and well executed albums of 2013 thus far, Chrisette Michele’s Better sees the vocalist shine like never before. After the magnificent performance of Better’s gold-selling No. 1 R&B predecessor, Epiphany, Better had some pretty big shoes to fill, but that’s not a task that Michele couldn’t handle. With a voice so rich and distinctly signature, the “Blame It on Me” singer soars on most of the LP’s ballads like “Love Won’t Leave Me Out” and the album's title track. Giving Broadway performers a run for their money, Michele’s pipes are clearer than ever.
