"Stan" Eminem feat. Dido

Eminem pulled a sample from British singer/songwriter Dido's "Thank You" off her debut, No Angel, which sold over 21 million copies worldwide. It was a smart move musically and in regards to marketing. The resulting track took the No. 1 spot in the U.K. and Australia; and when he performed it at the 2001 Grammys with Elton John, he made headlines in the U.S.
