“Nothing will ever be the same,” testified Prince Michael, Jackson's eldest son. "... I have a hard time sleeping. [And] For a while after he died, I became emotionally distant from a lot of people." Prince was in the house the day his father overdosed and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It was Murray who later told him and his siblings that their father died.
The teenaged Jackson said prior to that day, he had seen his father upset during phone calls with his manager and an AEG exec. "He would cry sometimes after he got off the phone," Prince said. "He would say, 'They're going to kill me. They’re gonna kill me.'"
