Lou Perlman

This impresario single-handedly ushered in the 1990s boy band craze, bringing the world such superstar groups as the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync. But while good with finding talent, he was terrible with financial dealings. In 2008, Perlman was sentenced to 25 years in prison for money laundering, conspiracy and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding.
