It was an historic night at the 41st annual American Music Awards, which aired live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (Nov. 24). Justin Timberlake was "racially profiled" before taking home the Favorite Soul/R&B Album award; Macklemore crowd-surfed and picked up the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album award; and Rihanna – in the most precious moment of all – received the first-ever "Icon Award," from her mom, Monica Fenty. "Rihanna, I am so proud of you tonight," she said. "I know the journey in your career has not always been an easy one, but I applaud and admire you for being so strong and so positive and so humble and so focused."
