8. The Blueprint 3

The Facts: Dethroned Elvis Presly as the U.S. artist with most No. 1 albums. "Empire State of Mind" won the Grammy for Best Rap Song.

Haters Say: "Jay Z joined the Illuminati."

Jay Z grew his hair out while completing the Blueprint trilogy, and he left it that way for the set's first video, "D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)," which premiered after the 2009 BET Awards.

When the whole album released, it wound up breaking Elvis Presley's record for the most No. 1 debuts. It also gave New York a new anthem ("Empire State of Mind" featuring Alicia Keys), and introduced the world-at-large to J. Cole.
