Janet Jackson

Janet's first record deal was with A&M Records, where she signed in 1982 and recorded her breakthrough third album, Control. In 1991, when her contract was up, she signed to Virgin for a record-breaking deal of somewhere between $32-50 million. She was the highest paid artist in contemporary music with that paperwork... at least for a moment. A few days later, Michael Jackson signed a $65 million deal with Sony.
