Dream Scenarios in Music

It's MLK Day and we're feeling hopeful.

Today is a day to remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and honor his legacy. With that, comes the principles that he made his life's work—ideas like equality, respect an non-violence—which he most famously popularzied in his "I Have A Dream" speech in 1963. As we continue to honor his life and continue to work towards his dream, we've also come up with some music-related dreams of our own for 2014 and beyond. - (Photos from left: Christopher Polk/Getty Images for Coachella, Ouzounova/Splash News, CFI / Splash News)

Jay Z & Kanye West Drop Watch the Throne 2 the same day as Lil Wayne & Drake Drop Big Tymers - Ever since the first installment, fans have been ready for Jay Z and Kanye West to link back up for Watch the Throne 2. And while the first one made Lil Wayne and Drake decide not to do a joint album, hopefully the second would presuade them that it was time. Then, if these two powerhouse duos dropped on the same day? That's three dreams in one. (Photos from left: Kyle Gustafson/For The Washington Post via Getty Images, Vince Bucci/PictureGroup)

G-Unit - G-Unit reunited in June, Remy's back in July, so it seems like a great time to make a comeback together. At least Tony Yayo thinks so. Yayo co-signed Remy's skills in June on Instagram, writing she has "bars for days." He even encouraged 50 Cent to sign her as soon as Remy gets out of prison.(Photo: Dana Edelson/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)

G-Unit Reunites at Coachella 2015 - We already know about a huge reunion that's going down at this year's Coachella, when Big Boi and Andre 3000 hit the stage as Outkast for the first time in years. What better way to follow that up than, in 2015, having 50 Cent, Game and the rest of G-Unit reunite to capture the magic of a decade past. (Photo: Dana Edelson/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)

Pharrell Wins a Grammy and an Oscar This Year - Pharrell has been making history for some time now, but he could really bring himself into a new stratosphere this year. The multi-talented produced is not only nominated for a number of Grammys, but also scored an Oscar nomination for his work on Despicable Me 2. His winning both awards in the same year would put him in a class all his own.(Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images for PURE Nightclub)

Dr. Dre - Dr. Dre partnered with Chrysler in 2011 for the unveiling of the Chrysler 300S series, fitted with Beats by Dre speakers. The commercial also featured a cameo from Dre protégé Kendrick Lamar.(Photo: Karl Walter/Getty Images for Coachella)

Dr. Dre Drops Detox Unexpectedly - At this point, any release of Detox would fall into the "unexpectedly" category. But if Dr. Dre decided to do it Beyonce style, and one morning we wake up and the oft-delayed album is—seemingly out of nowhere—finally available, that would be even more exciting. (Photo: Karl Walter/Getty Images for Coachella)

Outkast and Andre 3000 Drop Albums in 2014 - Maybe it's greedy. Maybe a reunion tour should be enough. But it's not. We want more from Outkast than just their planned shows at festival stops in 2014. How about an album, which would be their first together since 2006's Idlewild. And why stop there? How about that long awaited Andre 3000 solo album? Yeah, let's do that.  (Photo: Scott Gries/ImageDirect)

TDE Drops Six Albums in 2014 - In December, Top Dawg Entertainment's CEO tweeted that the label has plans to drop six albums in 2014. Does that mean one for each artist on the roster: Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SZA and Isaiah Rashad? We sure hope so. (Photo: Roger Kisby/Getty Images)

Lauryn Hill (@mslaurynhill) - TWEET: "I don't have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs, and walking with integrity. We have to find a better way to commercially exploit music, while giving artists their proper respect." Lauryn Hill releasing a statement defending Nicki Minaj's decision to pull out of the Hot 97 Summer Jam show, after respectfully clarifying that she herself was never scheduled to come out during Nicki's set.(Photo: John Stillwell/PA PHOTOS/Landov)

Lauryn Hill Drops an Album in 2014 - Not including her MTV Unplugged release—which was remarkable in its own right—Lauryn Hill hasn't released an album since her classic 1998 solo debut. If that were to change in 2014, it would be a welcomed switch. She's been perfoming recently, and hopefully it's with the intentions to deliver an album that recalls the old L-Boogie. Everyone Named in Kendrick Lamar's "Control" Verse Battle on Live TV - Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse—notably the part where he calls out many of his peers by name—has caused much talk and tension over the last few months. Why not bring the competition to a new level with a live televised battle that includes K. Dot an all the MCs he mentioned: J. Cole, Wale, Big K.R.I.T., Big Sean, Drake, Mac Miller, Tyler, the Creator, Jay Electronica, Meek Mill, Pusha T and A$AP Rocky. For the culture; for the sport; for the fans. (Photos from left: Chelsea Lauren/Getty Images for BET, Rick Diamond/BET/Getty Images for BET, Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images, WENN.com)

Chappelle's Show Returns - When it was on the air, Chappelle's Show was incredible for a number of reasons. Not only did Dave Chappelle and the show shine a hilarious light on many issues in American society, but it also featured an impressibe array of hip hop musical guests. A 2014 version is a pipe dream, but a dream no less. (Photo: Gary Miller/FilmMagic)

March 9th and September 13th Become National Days of Unity in Hip Hop - March 9th and September 13th were days of great tragedy in hip hop, as the days that Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac, respectively, passed away. In the years since, they've continuiously served as unofficial days of remembrance where we honor the lives and music of the two legends. Why not take it a step further, and make these two dates official days of unity in hip hop, where rappers host free fan appreciation concerts throughout the country and promote messages of anti-violence?(Photos from left: Raymond Boyd/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images,  Adger Cowans/Getty Images)
