Black Eyed Peas front man and The Voice star will.i.am was removed from the United Airline Global First Lounge after the staff believed his card granting him entrance into the first class waiting area was fake. Ironically, after his dismissal, a United Airline pilot asked to take a picture with the hip hop heavyweight.
"I get kicked out of the @united lounge because they say I'm not a member ... oh well ... and then the @united pilot asks me to take a selfie," he tweeted.
United Airlines has since issued a statement defending their actions, although they didn't mention the BEP member by name. "Since the customer did not meet these criteria he did not have access to the lounge," it said in part. "We are reaching out to the customer and appreciate his business."
