Too $hort - Too $hort shook airport authorities last week when he jetted after forgetting a loaded handgun in his carry-on luggage. He returned the next day, passing the baton to his lawyer to smooth things out. But him fleeing the scene was one of the most epic runs from the police we've read about. Short Dog has a history of bolting from the police, as he tried to dash from the police after he heard them blow the whistle in March 2013 during a DUI traffic stop. And he's not the only one. As Short ends his latest run from the police, take a look at other music artists who've been on the lam. — Michael Harris (@IceBlueVA)(Photo: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

Webbie - Webbie went on the run in September 2008 when he lost police during a dangerous high speed chase in Hattiesburg, Miss. The Louisiana rapper crashed his Dodge Charger into a Mercury Cougar, forcing the police to stop and help the passengers while he got away. Webbie’s car was later found at his favorite store, Walmart, where witnesses say they saw him being picked up by some friends in a Crown Victoria. The car was later found and Webbie was charged with one count of felony eluding, one count of driving under the influence, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, which was found in his Challenger, and one felony charge of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. Now that’s what you call the Savage Life. (Photo: John Ricard / BET)

Joe Budden - Joe Budden's a different case. The police were on the hunt for him in August after he was accused of assaulting and robbing his ex-girlfriend in Washington Heights. Joe wasn’t really dodging anyone, however. He was at home in New Jersey chilling with his dogs and tweeting his whereabouts.(Photo: Courtesy of Law Enforcement)

NAUGHTY OR NICE? - There was no beef between Treach and Vin Rock. The Naughty by Nature stars temporarily put their differences aside for the good of the music.(Photo: Earl Gibson III/Getty Images for BET)

Treach - Naughty by Nature’s Treach was pulled over in April after cops clocked him doing 55 mph in a 25 mph zone in Union City, N.J. The veteran MC apparently had a few warrants and hit the gas as he drove nine blocks, pulled over and then charged the police car as officers drew their guns and demanded he get back in his Cadillac Escalade. He was charged with reckless driving and speeding and posted a bond of $15 thousand. He had to clear up a few child support payments as well before being released.  (Photo: Earl Gibson III/Getty Images for BET)

Lyfe Jennings - Lyfe Jennings wilded out in October 2008 after a domestic dispute with his kids’ mother and fired off a gun before peeling off and leading police on a high speed chase in his Corvette in Smyrna, Ga. The chase ended after Lyfe crashed his car and was hit with a list of charges that included attempting to elude police, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway and DUI-refusal. He was sentenced to two years in prison in 2010. (Photo: Mike Windle/Getty Images for BET)

A Funky President - Of all the cities hit by riots following King's death, Washington, D.C., is the most devastated. In the aftermath of King (and Malcolm X's) death, James Brown is looked upon as a new Black leader as news crews follow him as he walks through D.C. talking to Black residents about their anger and surveying the damage. His social infuence causes Look magazine to put him on their cover in 1969 with a coverline asking: "Is he the most important Black man in America?" (Photo: Hulton Archive/Getty Images)

James Brown - The Godfather of Soul went on a two-state high speed chase in September 1988 that involved 10-14 police cars on Interstate 20 and took him from Georgia to South Carolina while rolling on rims — as his tires were shot out. After being apprehended, James Brown was convicted of carrying an unlicensed pistol and assaulting a police officer, along with various drug-related and driving offenses. He was sentenced to six years in prison and released in 1991 after serving three. Brown later claimed that police fired at him, which caused him to hit the gas because he feared for his life. (Photo: Hulton Archive/Getty Images)

Teyana Taylor - If you’re throwing shade about Chris Brown, you'd better make sure his Harlem homie Teyana Taylor isn’t around. According to TMZ, Teyana delivered a beatdown in April 2011 at a Burbank, Ca., studio on a woman who had a few disparaging remarks toward the R&B singer. Police were called but Taylor had left the scene by the time they arrived. (Photo: Johnny Nunez/BET/Getty Images for BET)

Yung Joc - It was going down for Yung Joc back in December 2007 when the ATL rapper was busted for attempting to bring a loaded handgun onto a Delta Air Lines flight at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Apparently, the Love & Hip Hop star forgot he had a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition in his carry-on bag and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Joc was freed on a $50,000 bond after he was formally charged with the felony, but the police were hot on his heels after he failed to show up for his arraignment a few days later.(Photo: Ben Rose/WireImage)

Foxy Brown - Fox Boogie has had her fair share of run-ins with the law, but in July 2010 she proved to be a little too sly for the boys in blue. Foxy was allegedly visiting some friends in a luxury high-rise apartment complex in Manhattan when a brawl broke out in the lobby and the Brooklyn MC was up in the middle throwing blows. By the time police arrived, Foxy was ghost and no arrests were made.(Photo: Scott Gries/Getty Images)

Soulja Boy - Soulja Boy caught an obstruction of justice charge in October 2009 in Georgia after bolting from the police when told to stop. The “Crank That” MC was 19 at the time and had gathered at an abandoned house with a group of 40-plus teens. Some of the teens who stayed snitched on the rapper and told police they were there filming a video. Soulja was later arrested and released on a $550 bond.  (Photo: Jesse Grant/Getty Images for VH1)

Ol' Dirty Bastard - Wu-Tang’s O. D.B. played cat and mouse with authorities back in 2000 after being wanted for outstanding warrants in L.A. and New York. Dirt McGirt fled a Cali drug rehab facility in October 2000 and skipped a court hearing. While on the run for over a month, he even popped up at a Clan show at NY’s Hammerstein Ballroom. He was eventually apprehended in Philly at a local McDonald’s after a police officer noticed him in the drive-thru.(Photo: Shareif Ziyadat/FilmMagic)
