Slow Down - August was quick to put rumors to rest that his health problems were related to cocaine use and sipping on lean. He revealed that he was put into a medically-induced coma for three days by doctors. “It was a case of me putting other people before myself. Putting any and everything before myself and overworking myself. Just the whole nine of really wanting it all and going to get it. It was overworking and exhaustion and not eating.” (Photo: Scott Legato/Getty Images)

Divine Intervention - August deatiled how he had a conversation with his late brother while he was unconscious. “During those times when I was down for three days, I saw my brother –– and I pray all the time for him to come see me in my dreams –– and this time he said, 'Come holla at me,' and in that moment I saw him and basically [after seeing him], I knew that I was cool and would be fine and I wasn’t going nowhere or leaving this Earth. ... His final words were, 'You’re doing it and now you gotta go back and do it even better.'”(Photo: Bennett Raglin/BET/Getty Images for BET)

Destiny Fulfilled - Prior to making it, August wondered what it would be like to meet Beyoncé one day. He finally got that chance recently while rolling with Jeezy. “I met Beyoncé for the first time. She was the coolest and it felt good for Hov and Bey to know what I’m doing and to be aware of the movement and what I got going on. I was always a huge fan, admired her and her work ethic.” (Photos from left: Jesse Grant/BET/Getty Images for BET, Ivan Nikolov/WENN.com, Ben Gabbe/Getty Images)

God's Will - There was more to the prison phone call between August and Meek Mill. August relayed, “I suffered over 10 seizures. I never had that problem before and it’s no type of medical history of that in my family. I was talking to Meek and our conversation basically was, ‘Sometimes God can find a way to sit you down.’ And I have a huge problem being still. I feel like if I’m still then I’m stagnant. And if I feel stagnant, then I have an issue within my mind, so it’s like I sleep but I don’t rest. And in his case, it’s just another form of God having you sit down and rest for a minute.”(Photos from left: Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for BET, Bennett Raglin/BET/Getty Images for BET)

Satisfy You  - A lot of veteran R&B singers have stated that the genre isn’t in a good place because the love element was missing, and August says it’s because that's just not representative of today’s times.  “I don’t feel that that’s true when they say we’re not connecting with the women. I say we’re connecting perfectly fine because this is what you’re presenting yourself and showing me as a lady. This is what you put on Instagram, what you present yourself to be, so I’m not singing, 'Oh I wanna love you baby.'”  (Photo: Kevin Mazur/BET/Getty Images for BET)

No Love - Mr. Alsina dropped a new single/video in October called "Grindin'," where he discussed his near death experience. He said about the song, “I didn’t want to do no interviews because people turn your words into whatever they want it to be. It could be something so positive and some way, somehow, they find something negative in it and that’s what it’s all about. And with this situation at hand, this ain’t nothing to play with and don’t play with me about it and it was just something I wanted to stay away from. And I feel like I talk about so much stuff in my music, why not give it to them there?”(Photo: Maury Phillips/BET/Getty Images for BET)

Being Like Mike - August said he's only seen the clip of him falling off stage because it was on TMZ. He said he wasn't feeling good prior to collapsing, stating, "The whole time, I wasn't feeling well but I thought I could make it through. When I went off stage and came back, I knew this ain't good, but at the same time I was like, 'Jordan played with the flu so why can't I do what I have to do?'"(Photo: Christopher Polk/BET/Getty Images for BET)

Pop Ya Collar - August also talked about his respect for Usher. Speaking on hitting the road with the R&B titan and playing huge venues this early in his career, he stated, "I feel incredible. I was on my tour selling out venues like The House Of Blues and I thought that was something. Not to take anything away from it because it was a big deal but ... Usher hit me last night and said, 'I’m proud of you' because performing at Madison Square Garden is a very, very big deal."(Photos from left: Bennett Raglin/BET/Getty Images for BET, Taylor Hill/Getty Images for Usher's New Look Foundation)
