Judge Allows Michael Jackson's Mother to Sue AEG Live

Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, was allowed to move forward Wednesday with the civil lawsuit against concert promoter giant AEG Live, thanks to Superior Court Judge Yvette M. Palazuelos. The judge turned down AEG Live's motion to dismiss her suit, which claims the company is responsible for the medical decisions made by Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Jackson's physician at the time of his death. Now the plaintiffs' lawyers have until March 22 to amend their complaint.

The lawsuit, filed September 15, 2010, on behalf of Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s three children, suggests Jackson was forced to maintain a grueling rehearsal schedule for his planned This Is It concerts in London, and that he was showing signs of physical stress in the months before his June 25, 2009, death.
