Chris Rock is in the midst of a second act, and he's got a lot of reasons to be grateful: good scripts, good health and ... Kanye West?
The veteran comedian and movie star told the New York Times that getting to appear on Kanye's hit album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, was a big deal for him.
“I did that quicker than I read scripts that they offer me money to do,” he said in the interview. “I thank him so much it probably freaks him out. Especially at this late date, to get on something, the album of the moment, that stuff is priceless, you can’t put a price tag on that.”
Rock has an extended bit on the song "Blame Game" in which he does a monologue as the guy sleeping with Kanye's ex-girlfriend. The skit's protracted profanities have made it a bit of a lightning rod.
"I felt invigorated by it,” Rock said. “I’ve still got my fastball.”
Rock is set to star in his Broadway debut, "The Mothaf***a in the Hat." He also appears in the upcoming indie film 2 Days in New York.
