Ludacris Lands Role in All-Star Film “New Year’s Eve”

The Atlanta rapper joins an A-list cast.

Chris "Ludacris" Bridges will be joining the cast of the film New Year's Eve. The New Line's star-studded ensemble dramedy is currently filming in New York with Laverne & Shirley creator Garry Marshall at the helm.

The movie tells the interconnected story of a group of New Yorkers getting through a maze of melodrama and romance during one New Year’s Eve. Bridges, who plays an NYPD cop working with the director of the Times Square festivities (Hilary Swank), will join Halle Berry, Robert DeNiro, Ashton Kutcher and a host of others on the project.

Bridges beat out gangtsa rap icon Ice Cube, who we reported was in talks to play the officer role.

Recently, he appeared in Ivan Reitman’s romantic comedy No Strings Attached and in Justin Bieber: Never Say Never as himself. He also appears in Fast Five, the fifth installment of Universal's Fast and the Furious franchise.
