The Princess and the Frog star co-creates and produces the musical Morgan Street.
Actress Anika Noni Rose is continuing her star turns on the big and small screens and theater worlds.
Playbill.com is reporting that the Tony award-winning actress has co-created and is starring in and producing her first stage production, the musical Morgan Street, which will be mounted in a private, invitation-only presentation on March 31. The play tells the story of an adopted child searching for his birth parents and identity. This journey is buoyed by a combination of musical genres including pop, Native American, blues, r&b and folk music.
Morgan Street also stars Tony nominees Kate Baldwin and Brandon Victor Dixon, plus Christian Campbell. Rose, currently guest starring in a reoccurring role on the hit CBS drama The Good Wife, also co-wrote the music featured in the production.
Her last big screen appearance was in the 2010 Tyler Perry directed all-star ensemble film For Colored Girls. Rose’s Broadway credits include Caroline or Change, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Footloose.
