No TV show for the female MC just yet.
Despite the rumors, it doesn’t look like Nicki Minaj will be joining the U.S. version of Simon Cowell’s show The X-Factor after all. Although the Young Money rapper reportedly interviewed with the show’s producers, a source close to her told TMZ, "There's nothing going on with [The X Factor]."
A long list of other industry names have been thrown out into the rumor mill for potential judges, including Paula Abdul, Jessica Simpson and Tommy Motola, but Cowell told reporters that these names were most likely leaked by his own company in an effort to stir up interest in the show.
So far, only L.A. Reid has a confirmed seat at the judge’s table, a job he’s taking after stepping down as chairman and CEO of Island Def Jam.
Whether or not The X-Factor will pull in a big artist remains to be seen. As hilarious as Nicki Minaj can be on Twitter, wouldn’t it have been entertaining to see her onscreen every week?
