Rappers turned comedians?
Two rappers have recently taken a temporary detour into the world of comedy—Nas and Lil Mama.
Nas was featured in a skit on Funny Or Die, the website started by Will Ferrell among others. The skit, entitled "Shadows With Nas," shows the rapper as a ghost mildly haunting a man in his apartment. Mildly, because he was just stopping by to charge his phone. Nas plays the role low-key and understated, as he usually does when he acts.
Lil Mama, however, went with over the top. She was featured in a skit on laughsquad.com, a small website run by Jake Smoliett. The sketch was called "Makimoto Meets Snow Wicked," and features Makimoto, a regular Laugh Squad character of the SheNayNay/Wanda variety and Lil Mama as a British pop "star." Her accent sounds more like a mixture of Japanese and Jamaican, but regardless she's funnier than you would expect. Her comfort in front of the camera could be due to her recent time on television. She serves as a judge on America's Best Dance Crew.
