Showtime will air Nick Cannon's Las Vegas stand-up routine, Nick Cannon:Mr. Showbiz, next month. Boombox reports, the actor, recording artists and father-to-be considers the move areturn to his roots.
"I see stand-up as a therapeutic outlet to say whatever I want," said Cannon. "When you're up there on stage, it's no holds barred. You don't have to be politically correct. All the pressure is gone. It's just you and the microphone. People forget that I started out doing stand-up, I'm actually going back to my roots. I'm a comic at heart."
The special will chronicle the Drumline star's life entertainment business, with wife Mariah Carey and becoming a father and airs Sunday, May 14 at 9PM EST.
