Trump Says His Black Friends Don't Think He's Racist

He says his black friends "would laugh" at claims that he's racist.

After questioning President Obama’s citizenship and his qualifications for his Ivy League degrees (and then claiming that he has a great relationship with “the Blacks”), a number of people have accused the real estate mogul-turned-television executive of harboring prejudices.

Trump blasted the criticism in a recent interview with CNN’s Don Lemon. When asked about the racist charges and his use of the term “the Blacks,” Trump said, “I am a wonderful person as far as you would be concerned as to race. And I think everybody who knows me knows that."

Among those that know him, Trump specifically highlighted his black friends—saying they “would laugh” at the insinuation that he’s racist.

Trump claims, “I have many, many black friends who said to me, ‘absolutely not a problem.’ The fact is, I wanna focus on jobs, the economy…that nations are laughing at us and taking our money and taking our jobs and ripping us off.”
