The couple reminisce on their magical first game.
Newlyweds Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez hit up The View to discuss their return to New York after Carmelo’s trade from the Denver Nuggets to the Knicks. The Brooklyn natives are elated to be back in their home state and called their first home game at Madison Square Garden “intense.”
“You didn’t know what to expect, but the whole arena went crazy. We really had a good time that day,” says LaLa. “To run out in that tunnel, with that song playing, 'I’m Coming Home,'” said Carmelo with a smile on his face.
However, the entire focus on game night wasn’t just Carmelo or basketball, LaLa explains. “It was funny because I wore these Christian Louboutins that actually got more attention than the game itself,” she says. “It was so funny. [People] thought they were custom-made, but they weren’t. Everyone was talking about the shoes the next day and I was like, ‘He did have a good game, you know!’”
