Whitney Houston Banned From Prince Shows

Prince staffers ignored Whitney Houston's demands to perform on stage with Prince "for her own good."

Whitney Houston has been banned from future Prince concerts. This news comes on the heels of reports of Houston seeking treatment for alcohol and drug abuse made earlier in the week. Now a related incident has led to expulsion by one of her peers.

The 47-year-old singer was reportedly told to not attend anymore of Prince’s shows after she appeared “intoxicated” at every concert she attended. TMZ says organizers ultimately grew tired of Whitney’s demands after she nagged them not only for free tickets but to be let up on stage with Prince himself. An insider told the site, “They didn’t want her to embarrass herself.” That, coupled with “erratic behavior,” led to her banishment.

Houston did appear on stage last week at a Prince concert. She joined opening act Chaka Khan for a rendition of Chaka’s hit that Whitney later remade into her own, “I’m Every Woman.” There was also video footage of Houston with daughter Bobbi Kristina at the show. The treatment program she entered – which she did so voluntarily – will allow her to leave the facility so long as she’s accompanied by a monitor.
