The "King" cover girl reacts to criticism that dating Wiz Khalifa is a step down.
For quite some time now, Amber Rose has kept quiet about all of the suggestions that she’s downgraded herself by going from a multi-platinum MC and producer (Kanye West) to a rookie rapper (Wiz Khalifa) is a downgrade.
In her cover story for King Magazine, when asked about the differences between dating Wiz and West, Amber quickly asked, “The thing of it is…how can I say this without sounding crazy or mean? I’m sorry.” When asked to elaborate Amber said, “There’s no comparison in personalities.”
She also added, “You know when people say how do you go from Kanye to Wiz Khalifa, that’s a downgrade? But the only question I can ask them is: have you ever dated Kanye? Because I have, and believe me, I did not downgrade at all. Not in any aspect, at all.”
Amber says after Kanye, she swore off dating men in the music industry, but after hanging out with Wiz – whom she initially described as a “little brother” – she realized there was more to him. ”Just being around him I realized he’s not no little boy like I thought he was. He’s a grown man about his business.”
