There was no tension, at least not negative, between Justin Timberlake and ex girlfriend Cameron Diaz as they filmed their new comedy “Bad Teacher.” They let bygones be bygones and literally laughed their way through a script that Diaz was initially hesitant to accept. She told The Insider that when she read the first few pages she had no intention of taking the role. Her first thoughts were, “There’s no way. I don’t like this character. I’m not into her.”
Twenty pages later, she changed her mind and realized that Elizabeth Halsey, the foul mouthed junior high school teacher, (portrayed by Diaz) is really hilarious. Elizabeth, who is only teaching because her sugar daddy dumped her and she desperately needs money, ends up wooing Scott Delacorte, a wealthy substitute teacher (played by Timberlake).
Although Diaz and Timberlake had a real life break up, according to People, in 2007 after dating for nearly four years, Diaz said he was the perfect person to play this role. “I knew he would kill it, and he was so funny,” said Diaz. “We all had a great laugh with it.” Timblerlake said it was fun to watch her play Elizabeth and that viewers are in for a treat because “it’s just something that I don’t think people have seen her do.” The film is in theaters June 24th.
