Sean Kingston is making a speedy recovery. On Monday, the "Beautiful Girls" singer's condition was deemed "serious," an upgrade from the original physician's assessment of "critical but stable" following a harmful jet ski accident.

"Sean Kingston continues to be hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami," representative Joseph Carozza said in a statement to the LA Times about his client's progress after the crash which hospitalized the singer.

"His condition has been upgraded to serious," Carozza continued. "Sean is breathing on his own and walked for the first time this morning. Sean thanks his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes."

The Miami-born Jamaica-raised performer was rushed to a Miami hospital Memorial Day weekend after crashing his jet ski into a bridge. The crash was so bad that Kingston was reportedly treated in the trauma ward initially before being sent to ICU.

Sean Kingston was accompanied by longtime friend Cassandra Sanchez at the time of the accident. In the days after the incident Sanchez, who escaped the accident with minor injuries, shed light on what happened. She said that she spotted the low clearance of the bridge and called out to warn Kingston, who was navigating, "We can't fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!" The next thing the 23-year-old woman remembers is waking up in the water. Sanchez woke up in pain but Kingston was much worse: "[Sean] was coughing up blood, foam and pink stuff."

The "Beautiful Girls" singer is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries in approximately six weeks.
