NBC Taps Cedric the Entertainer to Host New Game Show

The comedian will liven up new summer show "It's Worth What?"

Cedric the Entertainer has made audiences laugh in roles on The Steve Harvey Show, Barbershop and The Original Kings of Comedy. Now, NBC hopes he can bring his gifts to a new game show that’s hitting their summer lineup.
The show, called It’s Worth What?, features the funnyman hosting a “game show that taps into America’s curiosity for cost and value, from the hidden gems found in one's attic to some of the most exotic valuables from around the globe," according to the network’s press release.
Contestants will have to guess the costs of items in a series of challenges that escalate in difficulty, competing for up to $1 million.
The show is produced by Merv Griffin Entertainment and created and executive-produced by Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? executive producer Roy Bank and The Insider host Lara Spencer. Cedric the Entertainer, Barry Poznick, John Stevens and Ron Ward serve as additional executive producers.

The show launches on Tuesday, July 12, at 8 pm ET/PT.
