Amy Winehouse Booed at Concert Saturday Night \r \r

The British “Rehab” crooner gets no love in Serbia; the singer was jeered at during performance

Struggling to pull her life together and get her music career back on the right track, soul singer Amy Winehouse kicked off a two-week European tour in Serbia’s capital Saturday. As fans have been patiently waiting for the petitie singer to bounce back, they are as anxious to hear and see her give a good show. Unfortunately, fans at the first show weren’t impressed by the performance that was supposed to be her comeback.

According to the Associated Press, Yahoo! News reports the singer performed in front of some 20,000 fans by stumbling onto the stage, mumbling through her songs and wandering off and on, leaving her band to hold it down. This did not bode well with fans, many of whom used their weekly wage checks to pay for the $57 concert tickets. Many Serbians are said to make about $400 monthly so this was not considered a cheap ticket.

Yahoo! News writes, “She dropped the microphone and occasionally disappeared, her band playing instead.” Many fans are said to not even know which song she was singing she was so incoherent. The site goes on to call the five-time Grammy winner “drunk,” even though some media outlets reported alcohol was banned on the singer’s tour and she is said to have finished another rehab stint in London just two weeks ago.

As of this posting, TMZ reports a Winehouse rep says the singer is canceling part of her tour because "she cannot perform to the best of her ability." Too bad she didn't know this before the Belgrade debacle.
