Alicia Keys: Mother, Wife, and Musician

Most new mothers are sleep deprived, cranky, and need a vacation. Not super star Alicia Keys. She recently sat down with MTV and gushed about how utterly fun motherhood is. Not only does she look well rested, the wife of hit making producer Swizz Beatz, makes being a mother, wife and award winning musician sound like a walk in the park.

“I’m feeling really amazing,” she told MTV. “The past year has been really incredible. Just so many blessings. Being able to be a mommy, being able to be a wife and just really finding my center and my place of comfort and knowing myself and feeling really solid in myself.” She adds that being a mom is spectacular.” “It’s the most fun I’ve ever had period,” says Keys. “I feel like I’m more creative. I’m more thoughtful just about my plans and things that I do. So overall everything is like a hundred times better. I’m loving the process.”

Sleep deprivation? Not a problem at all. “I never was one to get a lot of sleep anyway because of the nature of what I do and how much we fly and how much we work, she says. “And so honestly I’ll tell Egypt, ‘So that’s all you got? You only got waking up every three hours. That’s it. Come on.’ So actually, I guess in a way I was built for it." She sounds like a pro, no matter how you slice it.
