Those of us who have been jonesing for Oprah's return to broadcast television will have to keep on waiting. Rumors that the Queen of Daytime would be returning to ABC to host the 84th Annual Academy Awards have been shot down by Academy president Tom Sherak. He tells the Hollywood Reporter: "The camera loves Oprah. Oprah's a genius. But it's not true [that she'll be hosting the Oscars], and I don't even know where that story even came from."
Sherak goes on to say that he will first hire a producer for the broadcast, and that a host won't be chosen for at least several more weeks. So that means Oprah will be sticking to her day job…which is what, these days?
