The highly anticipated 2011 Emmy nods were announced this morning. Once again, there is an extreme lack if diversity. Of course we’ve known that Hollywood has had this problem for years, but it’s always more of a stark affirmation when we read the nominations.

Idris Elba was nominated for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy for his role as as Lenny on The Big C, Loretta Devine was nominated in the Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Adele Webber on Grey’s Anatomy and Alfre Woodard received a nod in the same category for her role as Ruby Jean Reynolds onTrue Blood. Lastly, Taraji P. Henson got a nod in the Best Lead Actress in a Miniseries/Movie category for her role of Tiffany Rubin in Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.

The 2011 ceremony will air on September 18. Get the full list of nominations here.
