The latest Mario Van Peebles–directed film, originally titled Black, White & Blues, has changed its name to Redemption Road. The movie stars Michael Clarke Duncan and Morgan Simpson. The plot is described as “two seemingly different men [who] embark on a music-steeped journey through the American South, learning along the way that life isn’t about where you end up—it’s how you get there that matters.”

The film’s description contines: “Somewhere along the 900 miles between Austin, Texas, and Huntsville, Alabama, the two men become unlikely friends. However, every road has an end. In Huntsville, sad truths come to light, with heartbreak and violence lingering in their wake, ultimately leaving both men changed forever.”

Redemption Road will reportedly have a limited theatrical run starting August 26.
