Shawn Marion is a Dallas Mavericks team player and seemingly a maverick on an individual level off the court as well. While other athletes, like the NFL's Hines Ward, 35) and retired star Jerry Rice, 48, have danced their way into the hearts of reality show fans around the nation, Marion says not him.

TMZ reports sources close the baller says Marion was officially approached by Dancing With the Stars but turned it down, even though the NBA is still entangled in a lockout. The 33-year-old has no interest in missing the new season for the popular celebrity reality competition, should the lockout be resolved.

While some other players are looking overseas for opportunities, the four-time all-star seems to be exercising the patience that helped make him a 2011 NBA champion.
